MADhouse by Tikera Africa, a creative incubator, accelerator and research institute in Lagos, Nigeria, released the names of the shortlisted residents for the Re-imagining Hope Residency. The residency programme, an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy in collaboration with MADhouse, is a six-week programme set to feature incredible creatives, specifically visual artists, who seek to explore the societal challenges and inspire cultural pride through their artistic expressions.
As explicitly addressed in their statements prior to the selections, Nneka Anibeze, a special adviser to the minister, stated that the empowerment of creatives in such a likeness creates a ripple effect in placing Nigeria as a cultural and artistic powerhouse.
The residency programme maintains a definable structural balance in the promotion of creativity, creatives and cultural expressions among the native Nigerians.
