Mo Abudu, CEO of EbonyLife Group, set the global stage for African creatives once again with the recent acquisition of a property in London. The property, redesigned as a cultural and creative hub (EbonyLife Place London), is located on Wandsworth Road, minutes away from the West End and near the new iconic American Embassy, thereby offering aesthetically pleasing views of the city's skyline. Interestingly, it will feature the first African cinema in London.
Being an integral part of the creative industry, the EbonyLife Group has fostered several creative platforms, especially in the entertainment industry, as a frontrunner. With the property acquisition, the creative group has undoubtedly set a new landmark, serving as a sturdy, explorative foundation to export African ideas, culture, innovations and its ingenious style of storytelling to the global stage.
The EbonyLife Place London is set to open in Q4 2025, and it's indicated to offer opportunities for African creatives to showcase their works and brands. It will also feature African film, theatre, music, food, art, and fashion. Abudu described it as "a true home for African storytelling and talent to thrive on the global stage".
The EbonyLife Place London will feature the following:
- Ebony Life Cinemas London – A 180-seater theatre dedicated to the theatrical release of African films, especially Nollywood—the first African cinema in London!
