The poetry platform is solely open to Africans residing on the African continent. It is geared towards emerging poets but does not exclude those who are more established if they so wish.
Before submitting any work for consideration you are advised to review the information below to ensure it is acceptable to you. Please note that all communication regarding this initiative will be conducted in writing by us solely from the email address; admin@africangn.net
We pay £20.00 for each poem we agree to publish. Entrants must be over 18 years of age and their work must be their own and free of copyright restrictions. No transfer of ownership in part or in whole will result from participation in this initiative. In other words ownership of an artist’s work will remain their own.
Ideally work should be in pdf format or if not then Microsoft Word .doc format will do. You can submit 1, 2 or 3 poems maximum for us to review. Each poem must be no longer than one A4 sheet of paper in length and written in English. Irrespective of the number of pieces submitted kindly attach one or more pieces to the same email.

You are required to state your nationality, your legal name in full as stated on your government issued ID documentation and the copyright date of each piece you submit.
Please do not provide any identification documentation unless you have been informed in writing that any of your work has been accepted to be published.
Short pieces of less than 15 lines with a word average of 6 words per line will not be considered.
Work interspersed with a handful of words and/ or phrases in an African language is fine. You may be asked to define the African words and/ or phrases you use for our records.
All submissions published on our website are subject to our terms of use which can be viewed via this link on our website – www.africangn.net/terms-of-use.
We will review your submission and decide whether it is a good fit.
If we wish to publish any of your work, subject to confirmation of your ID via receipt of a clear copy of a government issued photo ID document and receipt of an appropriately completed ‘agreement to publish’ mandate; each piece we agree to publish will appear on our website for a minimum period of one month but not exceeding 32 consecutive days. If no response is received from our written offer to publish your work within 48 hours our offer will be rescinded thereafter immediately.
We don’t publish anything that is crude, discriminatory, political, religious, antagonistic or profane. Work can be pessimistic, optimistic, angry, happy or convey any mix of emotions and/ or be based on a wide range of subject matter.
Feel free to forward submissions or raise any queries via the email address admin@africangn.net Payment will be made by bank transfer or Western Union within 7 days after the publication term end date.
Successful authors will be asked to provide a photo and short paragraph about themselves. These details together with your name and poem will be published on our website.
Due to limitation of resources we are only able to respond to authors whose work we wish to publish. All entrants must wait one calendar year before they can submit more work again.
