We’re inviting you to try your hand at poetry, whether this is a new form for you or you’re already a constant notebook lyricist. If you’re interested in learning more about poetry we want to hear from you!
Theme Of The New Beginning Poetry Competition 2022
The theme for this competition is ‘New Beginnings’. Your poem should respond to the theme, and you can interpret this prompt in any way you choose – we would like to encourage you to be as creative and inventive as you like. We’re looking for a spark and most importantly engaging writing.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
This prize is free to enter.
Entrants must be over the age of 18, currently residing in the UK or Ireland and writing in English.
Poems must not exceed 40 lines (excluding title) and should respond to the theme ‘New Beginnings’.
Your poem should be previously unpublished.
Entrants must not have previously published a full collection of poetry with a traditional publisher. If you have had a different poem included in an anthology, or in a publication or magazine, you are eligible to enter.
One entry per person.
Submissions close at 11.59 pm on 21 January 2022.
