how else would you show that wholesomeness and nobility came out of broken things - a broken home, a broke pocket, a broken heart?
Glorious Kate's Standing Tall gives a deep insight about life, yet hiding it in few lines and stanzas. The poem depicts a succinct image of the aftermath of struggles and challenges "...standing tall/ and proud like the new national flag...". And giving each person a chance to see through her perception and story of "how beauty can emerge from ugly stories"

Standing Tall
There you are, standing tall
and proud like the new national
flag at Ibeno primary school on
Independence day.
Your lips take the shape
of a smile as you reminisce about
the vicissitudes of life because
how else would you show that
wholesomeness and nobility came
out of broken things -
a broken home, a broke pocket,
a broken heart?
You smile and tell the tale of how
beauty can emerge from ugly stories,
how broken bridges led the way.
