"Faith Be Faith" A Poem By Gloria Givia — Pawners Paper

at this point in life, let not my hope forsake me, - my dreams are falling like tears from eden's betrayal

In "Faith Be Faith", Gloria Givia does draw the readers in and gives each a bite of the sour cake, leaving everyone to chew while they ruminate on the taste and ponder about the things often unseen. The poem is such that draws the readers closer to the writer to know of his intent and emotions. It's like a fragment shared in broken pieces to each reader's, so as to leave none out.

The poem opens with a few lines relating the poet's dreams to "falling...tears from Eden's betrayal", beseaching "let not my dreams decay, let not my story be untold...memories.... unforgotten ."

She questions Faith, asking, hoping she gets to see Faith in delays.

 FAITH BE FAITH 

-at this point in life, let not my hope forsake me,

- my dreams are falling like  tears from eden's betrayal,

 -this fight is between my darkest desires and what is expected to be,

- if by any means, my knees sprain along the way, let not my dreams decay... 

-let not my story be untold, let not my memories be called forgotten,

- let not fear be embodied to my toes like Joseph's colourful coat, 

- if time is all I got, may I not be a wall unwritten, 

- a vision unseen, a prophecy unfulfilled, may my wounds not be uncoated.

-"if faith indeed hears," why has my whispers not cleanse it's ears?

-if truly "the universe sees", why has it not seen my twisted pace?

- perhaps I worry too much or faith decide to test me these tears,

- at this point, I hope my faith prevails this once..

-may all my distress not meet it's gain halfway,

-if faith be faith, I hope to see it's face in these delays…...

BIO

 Gloria Francis is popularly known by her pen name, Givia Gloria. She is a poet, a recycle craft Artist and also a student of Kaduna State University Nigeria.  She is an indigene of Kaduna State Nigeria.

Her  journey as a poet began in 2017. Over the years her poems has been featured both locally and internationally. She also Co-authored few poetry Anthologies
