Early January 2021, The Nigeria Newsdirect announces an inclusion of a weekly poetry column in its segments and O' boy! It has been doing amazingly great.
The platform thereby serves as a podium for every poet to gain recognition within and outside Nigeria. A platform to share their ideas and concepts and the most interesting part, get paid for their works.
On Each poem after acceptance, a token of 5,000 naira is paid to the writer.

According to the coordinator,
Nigerian NewsDirect will be open to poetry submissions for its Poetry Column-NND beginning January 2021. We hope to publish one poem per week in our newspaper by Nigerian poets & are open to a diversity of voices—established & emerging. Check out our website for older publications to have an idea of what we publish.We intend to pay a token of N5,000 per poem. – Send in one poem not more than 50 lines to poetrycolumnnnd@gmail.com
– Submit the poem in the body of the mail.
– Send in bio not more than 50 words.
– Twitter and Instagram handles should be listed therein.
PS:
While the right to the poem reverts to each poet upon publication, Poetry Column-NND reserves the right to republish each published poem in its annual anthology at the end of each year.
