Split Lip Magazine is a voice-driven literary journal with a pop culture twist. They publish online monthly and in print annually. They accept fiction (flash and short stories), memoir, poetry, art, and photography.

The issue is an effort to promote Black voices.

Submissions close: January 15, 2020

What they’re looking for: poetry, memoir, flash fiction, fiction, art

Word limits: 1000 words for flash fiction; 2000 words for memoir; 1000-3000 words for fiction; ONLY ONE POEM for poetry

Who may submit?

 They will only accept work from Black authors/artists for this issue. If you are not Black, please do not submit your work to this submissions category; they will not publish it in this special issue.

Payment: Our standard rates apply ($50 per piece)

Formatting: Please double space prose 

Art & Photography: If you would like to submit art for this issue, please submit it under the submissions category Free Art Submissions for Black Artists & please make a note in your cover letter that you would like to be considered for the Summertime Issue.
