Chimamanda Offers N50,000 Naira To Encourage People To Read Her Latest Short Story Titled, "OLIKOYA"
Chimamanda Adichie wants to get people reading again.
Chimamanda Adichie announces on her Instagram page on January 13, 2021 , a giveaway in order to encourage people to read. She says that people do not read as much as they do, her inclusive. Yet reading, she says, " is the entertainment form and the art form that gives us the most back.”
Hence, to encourage reading, she decided to host her first giveaway of "N50,000 Naira" to young Nigerians in return for their response of not more than 100 words to a short story.
She disclosed she'd share the link to a short story on her Instagram page on January 15. Interested participants should send in their response to the short story by January 17, 9pm West African Time.

The response to the short story isn't restricted or narrowed, she encouraged participants further that their responses can be in any form and about anything in the story. It can be about what you liked, disliked, what moved you, what struck you, what you learned, what surprised you. It can be a clever riff or a grave précis.It can illuminate a character untangle a plot point, or lay bare a hidden motive.
The title of the short story is "OLIKOYA"
The winner with the best chosen will be chosen by Chimamanda and will be paid via bank transfer. However, as regard the payment, the participants should ensure they have a Nigerian bank account.
