Akwaeke Emezi Announces The Publication Of Her Debut Poetry Collection "Content Warning: Everything"
Akwaeke Emezi, 36, is an lgbo and Tamil writer and video artist born in Umuahia, Abia State ,Nigeria. Her first novel titled "Freshwater" debut in 2018. She does art practice and it's located in the metaphysics of Black spirit. She also uses video, performance, writing, and sculpture to create rituals processing their embodiment as a non-human entity/an ogbanje/a deity's child.
She was awarded the Commonwealth Short Story Prize, John Sargent Sr. First Novel Prize and many other awards including some few nominations like the PEN/Hemingway Award, The Future Awards Africa Prize for Literature.

The poetry collection is titled " Content Warning: Everything" and it's Emezi’s debut work of poetry.
Their fourth book in total following the novels Freshwater (2018), Pet (2019) and The Death of Vivek Oji (2020) in which all received rave reviews. This has also become evident in Emezi's tradition to release a new work every year since her debut with Freshwater in 2018 .
The news of the publication of the poetry collection might surprisingly amaze some who considered Emezi to be a novelist and memoirist. But according to her in her tweet below,nshe confessed that she started writing a very long time way before she started writing fiction. She made shout outs to her instructors who trained her at Cave Canem, an American artistic organization for black poets.
